Getting it right, getting it wrong
Getting with the program now I'm getting along
Letting it loose, letting it go
You know I let my hair down, yeah I'm letting it grow
Out in the meadow, deep in the woods
I cut your name in the willow
Cut it deep & good
Take my bones
All my bones now mama
Build a home
Just for you now mama
I'm about to begin
Don't you wanna come in
See me shed all my skin
Turning into a king
I sharpen my nails, I sharpen my teeth
I think I'm growing a tail, oh what a relief
I've been thinking of you standing there in the light
you know I tore down my roof so I can look at the stars all night
Take my bones
All my bones now mama
Build a home
Just for you now mama
I'm about to begin
Don't you wanna come in
See me shed all my skin
Turning into a king
All my nails turn to claws
And my teeth into jaws
Got no time for your cause
And no more use for your laws
Little by little
And drop for drop
My body is brittle
My heart starts to stop
Just a little
Going shot for shot
Struck down in the middle
But died on top.
It's been a really long time since I've been that impressed by songwriting so creative and smart, plus the courage in displaying such vulnerability, and touched by the sheer beauty of the music, all at the same time. (I'm usually not a fan of digital only music purchases, but just had to make an exception here, after having the pleasure of experiencing a live gig by the wonderful Lucy, and buying the followup album on CD there - also heavily recommended!) mawit
I was on a train travelling to Seefeld in Austria and had nothing but the Alps to look over from the windows. This was a perfect compliment to the environment I was in Robert A Johnson
An almost anti-blues/anti-rock style that masters classic sounds while mocking the industry’s perceived seriousness. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 27, 2018
British folk musician Tom Nash built these delicate and moving songs around a broken harmonium, allowing its limitations to open up worlds. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 12, 2021
The Morrison-sounding vocals, the smooth grooves... If you're into this genre, just buy their discography in one shot - you won't be disappointed. Every album is gold. Rudolf Nisbeth
